FLOP: ‘90s Lounge x 19th Century Salon
FLOP was an interdisciplinary event series exploring the intersection of nightlife, performance, and installation that took place in Montréal, Canada It created a world that provided a platform for lounge music, intimacy, and exploration, bridging formal art programming and nightlife through carefully curated lineups and immersive scenography.
As the creative director and lead producer I oversaw the project from concept to execution, including curation, creative direction, artist booking and management, grant writing, contracting, budgeting, venue coordination, technical production, communications, photoshoot production, vendor management, ticketing, and on-site delivery.
Each edition was promoted using an original image conceived during a multi-day photoshoot in collaboration with photographers, models, stylists, and graphic designers.
Across 7 editions, FLOP presented more than 25 artists and collaborated with independent venues and cultural organizations throughout Montréal. The series secured public arts funding from the Canada Council for the Arts, built a growing local and international following, and developed a unique framework for joining art with nightlife.
